Welcome  to the Website of Chorale Bel Canto!

As we begin our 27th season of music-making, we invite you to explore our site, but more importantly,  to come hear our music!

Chorale Bel Canto is based in eastern Los Angeles County,  and its singers (all of whom are volunteers) come from Whittier,  Hacienda Heights,  Orange County,  Pasadena,  La Mirada,  Hollywood,  Long Beach,  Claremont and as far away as Beaumont

The Chorale presents a four concert subscription series each year,  and performs in various venues   -    the Whittier College Memorial Chapel,   Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittier,  Ruth B Shannon Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Whittier College,  and the lovely confines of First Methodist Church – Pasadena.

The Chorale and its music director strive to present great choral literature of integrity and variety.  The first concert will feature music from around the world.  Our Christmas concert will explore  Ottorino Respighi’s Laud to the Nativity  and Anders Ohrwall’s delightful The Three Kings.  As a cornerstone of the Whittier College Bach Festival,  now in its 73rd year,  the Chorale and Bach Festival Orchestra will present one of the orchestral suites and two of the master’s most colorful cantatas.

The season will close with a collaborative performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s epic oratorio Elijah,  featuring Ralph Cato in the title role.  Joining the Chorale and orchestra for this performance will be the Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church Pasadena,  and the Chamber Singers of Rio Hondo College, Linda West Brown, Director

Please join us!  We’d love to see you there!
